Many ranch houses have attached garages incorporated into the design; some also have vaulted ceilings and sliding glass doors leading to three season or all-weather patios. Ranch homes tend to have more open yards and other surroundings, as they were built in suburban areas with larger lots than were available in cities.

Ranch style house is a domestic architectural style that originated in the United States. The ranch style house is noted for its long , close to the ground profile, and wide open layout.
